Luigi Del Debbio: Parton Distributions from Lattice QCD


Parton Distribution Functions are a crucial ingredient for predictions of processes involving hadronic initial states. Their accurate determination is a major ingredient for precision physics at the LHC. In recent years there has been a momentous activity trying to compute PDFs from numerical simulations of lattice QCD. I will discuss the theoretical foundations of these studies, present some recent results and compare these with recent extractions of PDFs from data.
