Qudo is a startup that is striving to take the laborious, manual and expensive process of market research and make it faster, cheaper and more evidence-based. To do this we can make use of state-of-the-art Natural Language Processing (NLP) tools. In this talk, we will give a brief introduction to NLP, from relatively simple (but still powerful) bag-of-words models all the way to cutting-edge technologies like BERT. We will show how these technologies can be applied in real-world contexts, and also a bit about our personal career journeys from academia to Data Science.
