Title: Light dark matter and its possible probes
Abstract: In this talk, I will discuss various possibilities of producing MeV-a few GeV scale dark matter, which can be broadly classified into thermal and non-thermal categories. Each regime has its parameter space constrained by limits from various terrestrial experiments as well as astrophysical observations. I will emphasize a specific “light thermal” dark matter scenario, which can alleviate some of these notorious constraints and at the same time, demands modification of some standard calculations of relic density. Finally, I will briefly present a systematic analysis of the model, done involving the latest and future constraints such as the CMB observations, indirect dark matter detection (cosmic ray and gamma-ray observations), and collider searches of the invisibly decaying mediator.
