Description
In this talk I will present the state-of-the-art of fixed-order calculations in perturbative QCD, focussing in particular on high-multiplicity (2-to-3) processes. I will then introduce the recently proposed colourful antenna subtraction approach, which is a general method for next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO) calculations. The peculiarity of this formalism consists in inferring counterterms needed to subtract the divergent behaviour of real-emission corrections from structures which describe the explicit infrared singularities of virtual amplitudes. I will outline how the formalism works and describe its application for the construction of the NNLO subtraction terms for three-jet production at hadron colliders. In the second part of the talk, I will present the calculation of integrated antenna functions at N3LO for final-state radiation, which can be considered the first step towards the formulation of a local subtraction scheme at N3LO.
