Electron--proton colliders are important experiments for, e.g., the determination of parton distribution functions, making it necessary to obtain precise theoretical predictions for these collisions. The EIC aims to establish, among other goals, a precise image of the proton structure and therefore relies on simulations which leverage Fixed Order calculations and match them to parton showers.
Complimentary to DIS I will review diffraction and photoproduction as significant contributions to the total cross-section and present recent efforts to achieve MC@NLO accuracy. I will show the validation against HERA experiments as well as predictions for the EIC for jet shape and di-jet observables.
