Given the absence of direct evidence for new resonances beyond the Standard Model at the LHC so far, a complementary strategy to search for new physics in an indirect way is provided by the Standard Model Effective Field Theory (SMEFT). In this talk, I will present SMEFiT3.0, an updated global SMEFT analysis of Higgs, top quark, and diboson data from the LHC complemented by electroweak precision observables from LEP and SLD. I will demonstrate the impact on the SMEFT parameter space and UV-complete models coming from HL-LHC measurements, as well as future electron-positron colliders such as the FCC-ee and CEPC, providing timely input to the next European Strategy Update (ESPPU). Finally, I will cover recent efforts towards quantifying the effect of renormalization group running on the SMEFT and UV-complete models through an interface to Wilson.
