ECR ESPPU open meeting

Europe/London
Sarah Williams (University of Cambridge)
Description

This (online) open meeting is for Early Career Researchers (ECRs) in the UK High Energy Physics Community who would like to learn more about the 2026 update to the European Strategy for Particle Physics. The last strategy update in 2020 made key statements about the future priorities for High Energy Physics, and it is anticipated that this update should provide definitive answers on the choice of the next collider at CERN as well as statements on non-collider priorities for the European High Energy Physics Community.

The deadline for community input to this process is 31st March 2025. The ECFA Early Career Researcher (ECR) plans to submit an ECR white paper for this deadline and the UK plans to submit the first piece of national input (based on guidelines here https://ecfa.web.cern.ch/ecfa-guidelines-inputs-national-hep-communities-european-strategy-particle-physics-0 ) by this date.

We'd like to encourage UK ECRs to participate in both of these efforts. This meeting will provide more information on both processes as well as providing time for Q+A and discussion on the process.
