DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Willem Elbers\n\nThe Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instr
ument (DESI) collaboration is conducting a five-year survey to collect mor
e than 40 million galaxy and quasar redshifts. Recently\, the collaboratio
n presented measurements of baryon acoustic oscillations (BAO) based on 14
million redshifts from the first three years of observations\, yielding e
xquisite constraints on the cosmic expansion history. In this talk\, I wil
l give an overview of the latest cosmological constraints from DESI. I wil
l discuss tensions with other cosmic and experimental datasets that could
point to departures from LCDM\, with a focus on the implications for dark
energy and massive neutrinos. I will also discuss some of the physics behi
 nd the constraints.\n\nhttps://conference.ippp.dur.ac.uk/event/1471/
