I will give an overview of low-energy precision experiments that are sensitive to new hypothetical particles beyond the direct reach of existing high-energy colliders. I will also describe the language of effective field theory (EFT) that allows one to interpret, compare, and combine various experimental results. In the second part of the talk I will focus on particular examples of low-energy precision experiments: light meson and nuclear beta decays. I will outline how these experiments are sensitive to heavy new particles, and how the resulting constraints fit into the bigger picture of new physics searches.
