DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Aaron Vincent (IPPP\, Durham University)\, Daniel Br
aun (University of Tuebingen)\, Stefano Moretti\, Michael Spannowsky (IPPP
\, Durham University)\n\nQuantum metrology has emerged as one of the three
fundamental pillars of the quantum technology era 2.0\, alongside quantum
computation and quantum communication.  It has already led to substantia
l scientific progress\, from magnetometry with unprecedented sensitivity o
r spatial resolution to the detection of gravitational waves using squeeze
d light.  At the same time\, current research in fundamental physics\, su
ch as attempts to detect dark matter or deviations from general relativity
\, require measurements with unprecedented sensitivities.  The goal of th
e workshop is therefore to bring together researchers from both communitie
s and try to see where quantum metrology can contribute to progress in fun
 damental physics.  \n\nhttps://conference.ippp.dur.ac.uk/event/1540/
