Description
Most popular candidates for Dark Matter are protected from decaying by some kind of symmetry. As massive particles they could otherwise decay into lighter SM particles. We suggest a scenario where there is no such protection and where the Dark Matter candidate decays. However, it is very long-lived due to its weak coupling, with a lifetime larger than the age of the universe. Such a scenario is realized by gravitino Dark Matter in R-parity violating models. We discuss observables of such a scenario, both in astrophysics experiments and at the LHC.
