An overview over the newest and most interesting results concerning the physics of the top quark will be given. Data of proton antiproton scattering at a centre of mass energy of sqrt(s)=1.96 TeV taken by the CDF and D0 experiments at the Tevatron will be presented. Amongst other properties in the production and the decay of the top quark, different measurements of the mass of the top quark in top quark pair production will be presented. Furthermore, recent evidence for the observation of the electroweak production of single top quarks will be discussed which allows the first direct measurement of the CKM matrix element Vtb. The talk will close with a short outlook on top quark analyses at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC).
