energy gap (latent heat) and pressure gap between \nthe hot and cold phase
s of the SU(3) gauge theory at the first \norder deconfining phase transit
ion point. \nWe perform simulations around the phase transition point with
\nthe lattice size in the temporal direction Nt=6\, 8 and 12 and \nextrap
olate the results to the continuum limit. \nThe energy density and pressur
e are evaluated by the derivative \nmethod with non-perturabative anisotro
py coefficients and by a \nmethod using the Yang-Mills gradient flow. \nWe
find that the pressure gap vanishes at all values of Nt when \nthe deriva
tive method is used. \nThe spatial volume dependence in the latent heat is
found to be \nsmall on large lattices. \nPerforming extrapolation to the
continuum limit\, we obtain \n$\\Delta \\epsilon/T^4 = 0.75 \\pm 0.17$ \na
nd \n$\\Delta (\\epsilon -3 p)/T^4 = 0.623 \\pm 0.056.$\n\nhttps://confere
