Resummation for Differential Distributions

With run 2 of the LHC in full swing, analyses are performed with increasing amounts of data. This makes differential distributions more relevant for studies at the LHC. In order to attempt to further increase the precision of these distributions the inclusion of threshold corrections can be studied. The two cases that will be presented are for the invariant mass distribution of associated ttH production and the qT distribution of Z-boson production. For ttH production the invariant mass resummation results will be presented in the form of the inclusive cross section and the invariant mass distribution, including scale uncertainty. When qT distributions are considered, we acquire sensitivity to more energy scales which triggers the appearance of different types of logarithms. In these situations a joint resummation formalism becomes relevant. In this presentation we discuss an extension of the method for joint resummation to NNLL accuracy and apply it to Z-boson production at Tevatron and LHC as well as the heavier Z' production at LHC.
