Description

The observed deviations from the Standard Model in semileptonic decays of B mesons are the most compelling experimental hints for physics beyond the Standard Model at the TeV scale and challenge many of our preconceived ideas on model building. In this talk I will present the main aspects of some coherent explanations of these anomalies, including consequences for high-pT searches at the LHC. I will then discuss an explicit attempt to connect one of these explanations to the hierarchy problem of the electroweak scale, in a context of a composite Higgs model with vectorlike confinement.
