Heavy quarkonium phenomenology

by Dr Clara Peset (TUM)

Description

The physics of heavy quark mesons (heavy quarkonium) allows us to precisely obtain QCD parameters otherwise inaccessible. Effective field theory enables us to describe these systems. In this talk I will review the state-of-the-art theoretical setup for heavy quarkonium, and its phenomenology in real physical systems. As a result of this study I will present novel determinations of the bottom and charm quark masses and the strong coupling constant.
