Description
Self-organization refers to the process of generating coherent patterns from seemingly random motions. On the solar surface, the magnetic field may spontaneously relax to a simple state via interactions with surrounding plasmas. The relaxed magnetic field is thought to self-organise into two oppositely twisted tube-like structures, although some recent findings suggest otherwise. In this project, we use parallel fluid simulations to understand what would be the final state if we allow a complex magnetic field to relax.
