To promote particle physics in society, we will be hosting a short video competition for the summer school. The video would be maximum 3 minutes long. You can choose to work on one of these topics:
- What can particle physics do for society?
- What attracts you to do a PhD?
- Pick your favourite physics topic and explain this to public- For example origin of dark matter, flavour violation, discovery of the Higgs boson, neutrinos, gravitational lensing...etc. It does not necessarily to be your PhD topic.
- Prompting Equality, Diversity and Inclusiveness - e.g. highlighting contributions of minorities in physics, showcase initiatives in physics promoting EDI
You can work individually or as a group. You can choose your setting, it would be a lecture room, could be in front of your laptop, in a park.
The winner(s) and prize of the video will be announced in the formal dinner. The winning videos will also feature in STFC outreach media and the summer school webpage.
