Getting to Merton College, Oxford
For people outside the UK we recommend flying to either London Heathrow or Birmingham International airport. There is also a good link with Gatwick airport. Other London airports (Luton, Stansted, London City) require a longer transfer. Visitors from mainland Europe can also travel by train via Paris or Brussels (using the Eurostar), in which case they will need to get to London Paddington train station for a train to Oxford.

From London Heathrow, the “Airline” coach runs a good regular service to central Oxford. A period return costs GBP 35.00 and can be paid cash or card. The coaches leave from the Central Bus station (for those arriving in Terminals 1-3) and from Terminal 5, Bay 10 on the arrivals concourse (for those arriving in Terminals 4 or 5). There are departures approximately every 30 minutes. Tell the driver you want to get out at “High Street-Queens Lane” (and then do so). From that stop it is a very short walk to Merton College through Logic Lane or Merton Street.

From Birmingham International airport, it is easiest to take the direct train to Oxford train station. To check train times, check: National Rail Enquiries. There is a taxi rank directly outside Oxford station.
