Title:
Dark matter of any spin: EFT and applications
Abstract:
In this talk, I will present a theoretical framework for dealing with
massive particles of any spin and show how to apply it to study dark
matter physics. The framework avoids the usual problems with other
formulations of higher spin by using fields that do not contain
unphysical components. For the application to dark matter, I will
consider a singlet field of general spin, interacting with the SM
through a Higgs portal. In this setting, the general-spin particles are
viable freeze-out DM candidates if their mass is high enough and, if
their couplings are chosen to be parity-odd, their mass is allowed to be
as low as the electroweak scale.
