Travel and Accommodation

YTF 22 is free to attend and begins immediately after the Annual Theory Meeting (ATM), at 2pm on Thursday 15th December.

Accommodation is at Collingwood College. Speak to reception (until 5pm) or the on-site porter to get access to your room, or a place to store luggage if your room is not ready. The Physics building is a 5-10 minute walk down the hill from the college.

Please consult the following list of options to see if and how your travel and accommodation will be covered.

  • If you are attending ATM and have been assigned Durham University accommodation, let us know on the registration form and your stay will be extended for YTF. The cost of the this will be covered by the IPPP as well as the cost of travel to and from Durham.
  • If you are not attending ATM and would like Durham University accommodation for YTF (for the night of Thursday 15th), let us know on the registration form and your accommodation for YTF will be covered up to a maximum of 60 people. Your travel will not be covered by YTF.

If you have questions regarding this please get in touch with the communications officer at tommy.smith@durham.ac.uk. You may have more options for travel and accommodation coverage than the above, please inquire at your institutions or with your funding body if your travel cannot be covered by YTF.

 

Important Note - RMT Scheduled Industrial Action

We expect significant disruption to YTF 22 due to industrial action from the RMT union on 13, 14, 16, 17 Dec 2022.

If you are attending YTF 22 in person and the disruption means you will not be able to return home on Friday 16th December, please get in touch with us (contact details on the side tab) and we will try to mitigate the impacts accordingly.
