Description
An intriguing possibility for the nature of dark matter (DM) is to assume that DM consists of ultralight bosonic particles, which are present in various extensions of the Standard Model. These bosons may lead to unique quantum features on ∼ kpc scales, where they form solitons and possibly, vortex structures of a Bose-Einstein condensate. This leads to various astrophysical applications, which I will present in my talk: rotation curves, velocity dispersion, dynamical friction of baryonic matter, the DM vorticity and gravitational wave signatures in collisions of ULDM haloes.
