19-21 September 2019
Ogden Centre for Fundamental Physics
Europe/London timezone

All attendees will be housed in their own individual rooms in Van Mildert College for the duration of the event, where meals will also be provided. Durham is a small city, so you should have no problem finding your way to the college and Physics department (follow this link for a map, Van Mildert College is at ref. 4 and the Physics Department is at ref. 12.).

Lectures will be held at the Ogden Centre for Fundamental Physics. This building is located on the science site, just a short walk from Collingwood College.

Getting to Durham

There are direct trains to Durham from most major cities, including a regular service from London King's Cross via the East Coast line. Travellers can also take the train to Newcastle, from which it is a short train journey to Durham station. From the station it is approximately a 20 minute walk to University College, or one can take a taxi for a fare of about £7.

Durham's nearest airport is Newcastle International. Travellers can then make their way to Durham either by taxi, or by taking the train to Newcastle, then changing there for Durham. As an alternative, there is also a regular train service from Manchester Airport to Durham.

Durham city centre is only two miles from the A1(M). Leave the motorway at Junction 62 on the A690 Durham - Sunderland road and follow signs to Durham City Centre.
