Scientific Program

There is a growing interest in searches for dark matter candidates with masses below those of traditional WIMP candidates. The UK involvement in such experiments is currently quite limited - especially at masses below the MeV scale. This workshop aims to form a proposal that would allow the UK to play a role in this area, with the aim of presenting the proposal to the broader UK particle physics and astrophysics communities.

Topics to be considered include

  • The current motivations for low-mass dark matter
  • Current and future international experiments/collaborations
  • Possible UK-based experiments
  • Developing a complementary WIMP / WISP strategy
