The College will be hosting a number of other events over the period 10 - 12 September 2021. As such, some areas of the College will not be open to us during this period and alternative arrangements have been made for catering etc. This information will be circulated by email and announced during lectures, but it is also summarised here for reference.
Friday 10th September
There is a wedding taking place in the College, necessitating the following changes:
- No access to the Gardens and the Bar throughout the day.
- No access to the Dining Hall from lunchtime onwards.
- Coffee breaks will take place in the Monson room for all groups. The room will be partitioned into two separate areas. Please use the correct partition for your group (these will be signposted).
- Breakfast: In the Dining Hall as normal.
- Lunch: Packed lunch to be collected from the
Monson RoomDining Hall (updated 10th Sep 2021). - Dinner: BBQ (with bar). Please come to the Monson Room. If the weather is good the quad immediately outside may also be used. The coffee break partitions will remain in place, in case the weather is not good enough to sit outside.
Saturday 11th September
The College Graduation Ceremony is taking place in the morning, followed by a large 60th birthday party. This necessitates the following changes:
- No access to the Gardens and the Bar throughout the day.
- No access to the Dining Hall after breakfast.
- There are no coffee breaks on Saturday and no lectures on Saturday afternoon.
- Breakfast: In the Dining Hall as normal.
- Lunch: No lunch will be provided in College. You will need to make your own arrangements elsewhere.
- Dinner: No dinner will be provided in College. You will need to make your own arrangements elsewhere.
Sunday 12th September
There is another wedding taking place in the College, necessitating the following changes:
- No access to the Gardens and the Bar throughout the day.
- No access to the Dining Hall during the day.
- There are no lectures on Sunday.
- Breakfast: In the Dining Hall as normal.
- Lunch: No lunch will be provided in College. You will need to make your arrangements elsewhere.
- Dinner: To be held in the Monson Room, but we need to stagger arrivals by group to accommodate everyone safely. The room will also be partitioned as it was on Friday. The following groups should come for dinner at the following times:
- 19:00 - 19:30 Groups Pink, Grey, Orange, Purple
- 19:30 - 20:00 Groups Yellow, Blue, Green and Red
Please note that STFC-funded students are permitted to claim subsistence costs as part of their school travel claim. This includes the costs associated with any meals during the school that we are unable to provide. I will inform STFC we were unable to provide lunch and dinner on Saturday and lunch on Sunday. You should therefore be able to claim costs for these meals back from STFC. Those not funded by STFC will need to confirm with whoever is paying for their attendance as to what they may claim back.
