The Young Experimentalists and Theorists Institute aims to gather UK HEP young researchers from the experimental and theoretical communities to discuss current topics in high energy particle physics. It aims to promote interaction and overlap between the two halves of the PP community at the early career stage, and to encourage interest in phenomenology. The talks are by invited speakers, with plenty of time scheduled for discussion.
The emphasis of YETI'05 is on making the link between analysing from current collider experiments and the challenge of new physics at the LHC, whose start-up is rapidly approaching. The meeting will emphasise a more informed approach towards Monte Carlo event generators and includes hands-on sessions involving the MADGRAPH and HERWIG generators.
